Does VistaCalc support custom roles and permissions?
Yes, with job profiles. The owner (tenant admin) has full access. Other staff use presets — Manager, Office staff, Marketing, Measurement, Site supervisor, Carpenter, Factory/helper — or Custom, where you pick estimation, measurement, reports, price edit, web menus, and outlet by hand.
How roles work
VistaCalc is built for Indian shops where the owner quotes, a marketer follows leads, a measurement executive visits site, and carpenters update jobs on mobile. Presets map to those jobs. Custom lets you mix permissions without inventing a new product login.
What you can control
- Create and edit quotations (estimation access).
- Hide or allow selling-price edits (price-edit access).
- Measurement and site jobs on web or mobile.
- Reports.
- Which web menus the person sees.
- Which outlet they belong to.
What “custom role” does not mean
You cannot today define an ERP pack named Auditor, Storekeeper, or Accounts with field-level approval of every PO. Those job titles can be used as a Custom profile label with the permission flags above. Multi-level discount/PO approval workflows are on the product roadmap.

Can I create custom user roles?
Yes. Use the Custom job profile and set estimation, measurement, reports, price-edit, menus, and outlet. Named ERP roles such as Auditor are not a separate pack.
Can sales staff send quotes without seeing factory cost?
Yes. Turn off price-edit and keep production cost on the owner login. Selling-price PDFs still go to the customer.
